The best news on planet Earth!

1. You are a sinner.

"Hey, wait!" you say, "I thought this was supposed to be the best news on planet earth!" It is, but the great news doesn't mean anything unless you know and accept the bad news. The Bible tells us that "all have sinned and come short of God's glory" (Romans 3:23). This means that we have all chosen to do the wrong thing at one time or another, and that's enough to separate us from God. The Bible also says that "the wages of sin is death" (separation from God, who is life) (Romans 6:23). Since God is so holy, He cannot tolerate imperfection.

2. God loves you!

This is where it starts to sound like the good news that it is! God loves us so much that He gave His Son, Jesus to us. Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a perfect life. He preached the truth about God, the Father, about His Kingdom, and about the right way to live. Jesus also taught about how we sinners might get right with God and live with Him eternally. When talking with someone who had some questions, Jesus told him, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) Jesus suffered separation from God for us on the cross when He was crucified. He paid for all of our sins their in His body on the cross. (1 Peter 2:24)

3. You have the opportunity now to receive God's gift of Eternal Life!

Thank God for His love for you that motivated Him to send His Son to willingly give his life for you on that cross. Receive Him as your personal Lord and Savior. (John 1:12) Trust in Him to cleanse you of all of your sins: past, present, and future. (1 John 1:7, 9) Trust Him to place you in Christ and make you a new creation. (Galatians 2:20, 2 Corinthians 5:17) God does what He promises!
