There is no formal process to enact church membership in Scripture. However, Ephesians 4:4-6 says that all Christians are united into one body because of our mutual faith in Christ. With that in mind, Pearce Baptist Church believes that church membership is a reflection of this grace. As a result, we believe in regenerate church membership signified by receiving the sign of baptism. In terms of our local fellowship, this means completing a formal entry process, agreeing to participate in the ministry of Pearce Baptist Church, and agreeing to preserve its witness to the rest of the world.

The office of deacon is established in Acts 6 and its requirements are described in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. Fundamentally, the responsibility of a deacon is to care for the physical and spiritual needs of church members. In practical terms, the deacon's responsibility is to come alongside and serve church members in whatever need they have, and to assist the pastoral staff by sharing some of the burden of ministry.
